Artificial intelligence (AI) firm Viz.ai has introduced Viz Vascular Suite, an AI-based software application designed to automatically detect and enable triage care for cases of suspected pulmonary embolism (PE), right heart strain, aortic dissection, and abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA).
Viz Vascular Suite can automatically analyze imaging modalities such as CT exams, electrocardiograms (ECGs), and others for suspected vascular diseases, according to the vendor. After it detects suspected pathology, the app automatically alerts and displays the imaging studies on the mobile phones of the vascular care teams. These clinicians can then use the software to remotely coordinate vascular pathology care within a hospital system's hub-and-spoke network, as well as communicate synchronously, Viz.ai said.
The firm noted that it has submitted a new 510(k) application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration specifically for the AAA algorithm.
