Canon readies debut of full-size portable DR

Canon Medical Systems will display its work-in-progress CXDI-50G portable digital radiography system at the Symposium for Computer Applications in Radiology in June. A 14 x 17-inch system, CXDI-50G is suitable for trauma, bedside, and other applications, according to the Irvine, CA-based vendor.

CXDI-50G offers a larger field of view than Canon's first foray into the portable DR market, CXDI-31. That system has a 9 x 11-inch FOV, and was cleared by the FDA in January 2002.
