Lodox Systems

Lodox of South Lyon, MI, will showcase its work-in-progress VersaScan MD digital radiography system with a large viewing area and low patient radiation dose.

VersaScan MD features a 73 x 29-inch viewing area, and the self-contained system does not require a dedicated room. The unit can image erect, nonambulatory patients, as well as bariatric patients. Its low radiation dose mean essentially no radiation is delivered to the operator, according to Lodox.

The system is based on Lodox's linear slot-scanning radiography technology, and is targeted at general radiology as well as orthopedic applications, full-spine imaging, chest imaging, and imaging following gastric bypass surgery.

The system has not been cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, but is expected to be available in the U.S. and worldwide by the second half of 2007.
