(Booth 1311) Del Medical Systems of Franklin Park, IL, will launch several new digital x-ray products at the 2007 RSNA meeting.
The work-in-progress Apollo DRF is a remote radiography/fluoroscopy (R/F) system that includes a Trixell dynamic digital radiography (DR) panel as an alternative to conventional image intensifier tubes; it is capable of 180-cm source-to-image distance (SID) for performing chest imaging on a table. Del plans to submit a 510(k) application for Apollo DRF to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) by the end of the year, and hopes to begin shipping the unit in North America by the second quarter of 2008.
Also on display as a work-in-progress will be the company's Del IMS (Image Management System), which can be used with the Trixell DR panel and integrated into Del's tables, wall buckys, or U-arm configurations for general-purpose radiography. Del has obtained FDA clearance for the system, and its first clinical use of the system is under way at a hospital in Milan, Italy. Del expects to begin marketing the system in North America in the second quarter of 2008.
Del will also highlight DRV, its general radiographic unit for hospitals, imaging centers, and orthopedic groups that includes automatic collimation and can be configured for film-screen radiography and computed radiography (CR), or can be upgraded to DR with either Trixell or Canon Medical Systems DR panels.
Finally, DC Elite is a dedicated digital chest system with either 3K x 3K or 4K x 4K CCD detector technology while U-ARC DRI is a digital general-purpose radiography system, also with either 3K x 3K or 4K x 4K CCD detector technology but mounted on a U-arm configuration for emergency room, orthopedic, or imaging center use.
