(Booth 2038) French biotech firm Biospace Med of Paris will showcase sterEOS, a new 3D x-ray reconstruction workstation designed for use with the company's EOS digital radiography (DR) system.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration cleared the device earlier this month, allowing Biospace Med to market the workstation alongside EOS DR systems. A particular niche for the package is 3D skeletal reconstruction: sterEOS is designed to reduce surgical planning time and to help clinicians establish the most effective course of treatment, according to the company.
sterEOS creates a 3D weight-bearing assessment of the spine at six to 10 times less radiation dose than conventional radiography systems, the company said. sterEOS also is available with additional software for pediatric spine imaging, as well as a lower-extremity package for hip and knee assessment.
