(Booth 1820) Fischer Medical Technologies of Denver will showcase its work-in-progress VersaRad, an overhead U-arm radiography system for general-purpose applications.
Designed for ER and radiology departments, VersaRad can perform any standard imaging procedure except tomography, according to Fischer. It can be used with analog, computed radiography, or digital radiography technologies.
VersaRad rotates around the patient to achieve rapid positioning, keeping patient movement to a minimum, according to the company. A tilting mobile stretcher provides high patient throughput in smaller ER rooms and enables the system to perform exams that sometimes have to be performed via CT or MRI.
The company expects to begin marketing VersaRad in the first quarter of next year.
