Guidant names Lorell as chief medical and technology officer

Interventional firm Guidant has selected Dr. Beverly Lorell as its vice president and chief medical and technology officer. Lorell, the first person to assume the helm of the newly created position, will report to Ronald Dollens, president and CEO of the Indianapolis-based company. She will also be a member of the Guidant management committee when she joins the firm on November 1, the firm said.
