Interventional firm Guidant of Indianapolis has completed its acquisition of microwave surgical cardiac ablation firm AFx.
Under the terms of the deal, the Fremont, CA-based AFx will receive an up-front cash payment of $45 million, as well as predetermined milestone payments, according to AFx. The firm said it has submitted data to the Food and Drug Administration seeking clearance for the treatment of a specific atrial fibrillation indication.
