Siemens, MGH to partner on molecular imaging

Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) of Boston and multimodality vendor Siemens Medical Solutions of Malvern, PA, will collaborate on research to further the field of molecular imaging and test imaging applications in laboratory models and clinical studies. Siemens said it would dedicate resources, researchers, and technology to the Center for Molecular Imaging Research at MGH.

The company will provide MR scanners and customized software for scanning with MR contrast agents; a PACS capable of integrating, processing, and visualizing genomic and proteomic data; nuclear imaging technologies for molecular probe development; and prototype molecular fluorescence imaging systems.
