Gamma camera developer Gamma Medica Instruments of Northridge, CA, has introduced a cardiac gating sub-system for its X-SPECT pre-clinical imaging system.
The cardiac gating capability for the second-generation MicroSPECT CT system allows it to "freeze" the movement of the heart during its expansion and contraction phases, permitting accurate in-vivo molecular imaging, Gamma Medica said. The firm is currently installing the X-SPECT system with cardiac gating at the University of California, Irvine, the company said.
