Gamma probe developer Neoprobe of Dublin, OH, reported that revenues slipped and its net loss edged higher for the first quarter (end-March 31).
For the period, the company posted sales of $1.4 million, down 7% compared to $1.5 million for the first quarter of 2003. The company's net loss for the period was $589,000, compared with $479,000 in the same period of 2003.
Neoprobe said the lower numbers were due to a delay in transferring the manufacturing of the company's neo2000 gamma detection device to its new contract manufacturer. This resulted in accumulating a backlog of orders to Neoprobe's primary distributor of over $125,000. If the delay had not occurred, sales would have been comparable to last year's numbers.
