Hitachi Medical Systems America will be introducing its PET/CT hybrid imaging system, combining lutetium oxyorthosilicate (LSO) PET, Hitachi quad slice CT, with connectivity via the company's AVIA PACS architecture, at the Society of Nuclear Medicine meeting next week in Philadelphia, according to the Twinsburg, OH-based vendor.
Hitachi will also debut its Evolve program that allows a field-upgrade path from the Sceptre dedicated PET system to the SceptreP3 PET/CT. The Evolve upgrade will be available to all existing Sceptre installations as well as new Sceptre systems, the vendor said.
A new suite of features -- "Easy Route" -- that allow streamlined workflow for the AVIA Advanced Visualization and Image Analysis workstation will also be showcased. The features include autorouting, prefetch, and other PACS functionality, as well as reporting, scanning, and dynamic teleradiography, Hitachi said.
The SceptreP3 PET/CT imaging system is pending U.S. Food and Drug Administration 510(k) marketing clearance and is not currently available for sale in the U.S., according to the firm.
