Nuclear medicine start-up UltraSPECT has completed installation of its products at 15 sites, including Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Duke University Medical Center, New York-Presbyterian Hospital -- Weill Cornell Medical Center, and the Mayo Clinic. The Brookfield, WI-based vendor has developed Xact.bone and Xpress.bone, which apply its wide-beam reconstruction (WBR) technology to bone SPECT and planar studies.
The WBR technology improves lesion detection and localization capability, and maximizes capital equipment cost effectiveness, UltraSPECT said. Utilizing automatic and filter-free reconstruction processes, the offerings reduce scan times by as much as 50% and improve contrast resolution by as much as two times, the firm said.
