Siemens sells SPECT/CTs to MD Anderson

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center will acquire five Symbia systems, incorporating TruePoint SPECT/CT technology, from Siemens Medical Solutions, according to the Malvern, PA-based company.

The Symbia systems have the capability to perform three different scans -- SPECT, diagnostic CT, and SPECT/CT -- in a single, automated procedure, the firm said. MD Anderson plans to install the systems in early 2005 in its ambulatory care building, Siemens said.
