GE releases FASTlab for PET radiopharma production

GE Healthcare of Chalfont St. Giles, U.K., has released its FASTlab chemistry system for PET radiopharmaceutical production.

The product incorporates a single-use cassette system that the company said was able to produce batches of FDG with a mean uncorrected yield of 70%. GE said that FASTlab was designed to accommodate different chemistries, which will facilitate the production of multiple tracers for use in PET systems.

The firm said it is planning to expand the utility of the platform by developing a range of other radiopharmaceuticals, including GE Healthcare proprietary diagnostic imaging agents.
