Cardinal Health said it will be opening three additional PET radiopharmaceutical manufacturing facilities near its existing nuclear pharmacy locations this year.
The facilities will produce fluorine-18, the radioactive precursor to FDG, and will be located in Tampa, FL; Hartford, CT; and Louisville, KY, according to the Dublin, OH-based firm. They will also produce other PET imaging agents for oncology, neurology, and cardiac imaging applications, Cardinal Health said.
In other Cardinal Health news, the company said it will now manufacture, compound, and distribute PET radiopharmaceuticals for clinical trials.
