Gamma camera probe developer Neoprobe of Dublin, OH, has introduced a new gamma detection control unit along with Ethicon Endo-Surgery of Cincinnati.
The Neoprobe GDS control unit is designed to communicate with Neoprobe's wireless probes without an external adapter. Neoprobe's wireless gamma detection products are based on Bluetooth technology and eliminate cables that can complicate a surgical field.
Neoprobe's gamma detection products are used by cancer surgeons for sentinel lymph node biopsy or intraoperative lymphatic mapping.
