Electromagnetic localization developer Calypso Medical Technologies and Siemens Healthcare have signed a product collaboration agreement to integrate Calypso's real-time tumor tracking data with Siemens' linear accelerator products.
The first application to be addressed under the agreement will be adaptive gating, according to Calypso of Seattle and Siemens of Malvern, PA.
In other Calypso news, the company said it has received a $1 million grant from the University of Pennsylvania Health System in Philadelphia to develop a new version of the Calypso 4D localization system. The funding will be used to develop a modified version of the Calypso system that will provide real-time tumor tracking during proton therapy for cancer treatment, Calypso said.
