Atomic Energy of Canada's (AECL) National Research Universal (NRU) nuclear reactor is up and running again after several days offline for maintenance.
AECL spokesman Dale Coffin said the reactor's regularly scheduled maintenance outage was to start on December 7 and last five days. However, the reactor was shut down on the afternoon of December 4 to carry out a required configuration change unrelated to medical isotope production.
The reactor was back online on December 11, as scheduled.
