Italian MRI vendor Esaote will emphasize the new Release 8 update for its E-Scan XQ dedicated extremity MRI scanner. The package includes hardware improvements that Esaote says make the scanner faster, more efficient, and easier to install.
All system components -- such as the power amplifier and gradients -- are located inside the unit’s RF cage, eliminating the need to run cable ducts in the room. Only the scanner’s workstation and monitor are located outside the cage.
Other new updates included in Release 8 include a new computer system, new multichannel RF chain, high-power RF amplifier, and standard flat-screen monitor. The entire system requires only 18 square meters of siting space, according to the company.
