Philips Medical Systems has signed an agreement to provide the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor, MI, with four MRI scanners. The purchase includes two Achieva 3-tesla systems and two Achieva 1.5-tesla units, according to Philips of Andover, MA.
The Achieva systems will be used for advanced clinical applications and research projects, focusing on neurological, cardiovascular, body, and pediatric cardiovascular applications, Philips said. The vendor debuted the models at the 2003 RSNA meeting in Chicago.
