Italian imaging vendor Esaote will be exhibiting several new systems at next week's 2004 RSNA meeting in Chicago.
MyLab 25 is a new portable multipurpose ultrasound scanner, and the second iteration of the Genoa, Italy-based vendor's MyLab platform. The scanner uses a digital beamformer, a Windows XP-based user interface, and weighs less than 20 lb.
It includes linear-array probes for vascular and small parts, convex array technology, and a range of special probes for general imaging, Esaote said. It also offers native DICOM support, digital image management capability with an integrated CD writer, and a USB pen drive facility for storage and transfer of clinical studies.
MyLab 25 also includes Esaote's BioLab data management software, which allows images and video clips to be stored in real-time, reviewed, exported in different formats, and printed.
In other RSNA ultrasound introductions, Esaote will be showcasing its Virtual Navigator technology for use with its Technos MPX premium ultrasound scanner. Virtual Navigator ultrasound scanning is designed to correlate with and overlap CT/MR images, with the aid of fusion imaging software and a tracking system, Esaote said.
In MR announcements, Esaote will introduce G-scan, a 0.25-tesla MR scanner designed to accommodate almost all musculoskeletal applications. It features a tilting gantry to allow for weight-bearing MR scanning, according to the vendor. G-scan is available in Europe, but not yet in the U.S.
