The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) of Rosslyn, VA, has published a new guidance document covering MRI image quality.
MS 3-2008 Determination of Image Uniformity in Diagnostic Magnetic Resonance Images is one of a series of test standards developed by the medical diagnostic imaging industry for measuring performance parameters governing image quality of MRI systems.
MS 3 prescribes a method for measuring the nonuniformity of MR images to characterize the low spatial frequency nonuniformities typical of such images. An electronic copy of NEMA MS 3-2008 may be downloaded free from the NEMA Web site.
