Siemens Healthcare and the Steadman Hawkins Research Foundation of Vail, CO, have formed a strategic alliance.
Siemens will install its Magnetom Verio 3-tesla MRI scanner at Steadman Hawkins, which will use data collected from it to test new software being developed specifically for orthopedic sports medicine and research at the institution, according to the Malvern, PA-based vendor.
Steadman Hawkins researchers will analyze the imaging data, compare it to their surgical data, and determine whether they can match the images with actual surgical observations, Siemens said.
