Philips Healthcare of Andover, MA, and NeuroNexus Technologies of Ann Arbor, MI, will collaborate to develop next-generation deep-brain stimulation devices to enhance the treatment of neurological diseases and psychiatric disorders.
Philips will contribute its imaging and surgery planning products with Philips Research's microelectronics, signal processing, ultralow-power system design, and miniaturization technologies.
NeuroNexus will offer microscale electrode design and fabrication products to develop jointly the programmable and MRI-safe deep-brain stimulation devices.
Their initial research will focus on the treatment of Parkinson's disease.
