Toshiba America Medical Systems announced the 700th installation of its Vantage MRI system at the Comanche County Medical Center (CMCC) in Comanche, TX, at this week's RSNA 2008 meeting in Chicago.
CMCC is an acute care, rural medical center that provides complete healthcare services to approximately 35,000 people, and is the only hospital in several counties that offers new and advanced medical imaging technology, according to the Tustin, CA-based company. The Vantage system will be equipped with the Radiance Plus breast imaging coil to enable breast MRI in addition to whole-body scans.
Toshiba also announced a new effort to create a cardiac MRI educational series for physicians and technologists, designed in partnership with the Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System (SVMHS). Three level 1 CME courses, comprised of two courses for physicians and one for technologists, will focus on the latest techniques in cardiovascular MR imaging using Toshiba's Vantage Atlas MRI system, and will be taught at the Cardiovascular Diagnostic Center at SVMHS' Ryan Ranch outpatient facility in Monterey County, CA.
