Toshiba gets FDA nod for large knee MRI coil

Toshiba America Medical Systems has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for an extra-large knee array coil for its Vantage Titan MR scanner.

The extra-large knee coil features a 22-cm interior diameter, which can accommodate most bariatric patients, according to the vendor. It can also be used for imaging nonbariatric patients, such as for imaging a flexed or bent knee, Toshiba said.
