Philips, Imricor launch MRI-guided cardiac intervention lab platform

Royal Philips and Imricor Medical Systems are launching a commercially available interventional MRI (iMR) lab platform for cardiac procedures, combining Philips' 1.5T MRI system with Imricor's MR-compatible systems and consumables for MR-guided cardiac ablation.

The platform combines Philips' Cardiac MR Suite, featuring SmartHeart AI-powered cardiac planning, with Imricor's NorthStar iMR mapping and guidance system, Advantage-MR EP Recorder/Stimulator, and Vision-MR electrophysiology catheters. The configuration enables physicians to visualize cardiac anatomy, track catheters, perform electroanatomical mapping, assess lesion formation, and evaluate treatment response during procedures in a radiation-free environment, the firms said.

The platform is built on Philips' BlueSeal helium-free MRI technology, reducing siting complexity and enabling installation closer to cardiology departments. It is commercially available in CE-marked markets and in some configurations in the U.S., with further configurations expected subject to additional regulatory clearances. The companies will showcase the platform at the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress 2026 in Munich.
