Siemens joins particle therapy sector

Siemens Medical Solutions has signed several strategic partnership agreements aimed at developing particle therapy treatment products for the radiation oncology market. The Malvern, PA-based firm has signed deals with particle accelerator technology developer Accel Instruments of Bergisch Gladbach, Germany, and with heavy ion research center Gesellschaft fur Schwerionenforschung (GSI) of Darmstadt, Germany.
