Siemens, Elekta sign distribution accord

Swedish radiation therapy firm Elekta of Stockholm and Siemens Medical Solutions have closed a deal to market and sell the Malvern, PA-based vendor’s high-resolution add-on multileaf collimators (MLCs). The agreement covers add-on MLCs for use with Elekta’s SL, SLi, Precise Treatment System, and Elekta Synergy digital accelerator platforms.

Elekta will sell the products on a worldwide basis under the trade names MRC microMLC and MRC ModuLeaf. Under terms of the agreement, Elekta will be responsible for installation and servicing of the products it sells.
