Varian Medical Systems has finalized its acquisition of radiation oncology software and accessories provider Zmed. The Palo Alto, CA-based vendor paid approximately $35.5 million in cash for Zmed, which is expected to add annual revenues of $16 million to $18 million and be neutral to slightly accretive to earnings in fiscal 2004. The Zmed unit becomes part of Varian’s Oncology Systems business segment and will continue to operate from its facilities near Boston.
