Radiation therapy firm North American Scientific has closed its acquisition of fellow radiation therapy provider Nomos. Under the terms of the deal, approximately 5.3 million shares of the Chatsworth, CA-based firm's stock will be issued and approximately $12 million in cash will be paid, in aggregate, to Nomos stockholders.
North American Scientific's board of directors has been expanded from seven to nine members, and John Manzetti and former Nomos chairman John Friede have been appointed to the board. Manzetti will also serve as president of North American Scientific's Nomos Radiation Oncology division.
