The American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO) has announced the 2004 recipients of its Junior Faculty Research Award and Resident Clinical/Basic Research Award.
Dr. Philip Connell of the University of Chicago received the Junior Faculty Research Award. The Resident Clinical/Basic Science Research Award will be presented to three individuals: Dr. Matthew Carpenter of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Pittsburgh, Dr. Christopher Jahraus of the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in Lexington, and Dr. Emma Elizabeth Thomas of the Cookridge Hospital in the U.K.
The award recipient’s institution is granted $150,000 to support the principal investigator’s salary, and to provide direct research assistance and supplies, according to ASTRO of Fairfax, VA.
