Varian Medical Systems has debuted new treatment-planning tools for its Eclipse 3D radiotherapy treatment-planning software. The Palo Alto, CA-based vendor has added automatic compensation for variations in tissue thickness, and the ability to combine multiple targets within a single plan.
In other enhancements, Eclipse now supports inverse planning of intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) treatments with linear accelerators from other suppliers, Varian said.
