Siemens debuts Momentum

Siemens Medical Solutions introduced Momentum physics support services at this week's annual meeting of the American Association of Medical Physicists (AAPM) in Pittsburgh.

The initial Momentum offerings include On-Site, an on-site commissioning service, and IMRT, which provides training to enable customers to perform intensity-modulated radiation therapy treatments shortly after equipment installation, according to the Malvern, PA-based vendor. Siemens will also introduce Calibration, an absolute-dose calibration service.

The Momentum launch is the result of the partnership between Siemens and Advanced Radiotherapy Consulting (ARC), Siemens said.
