AuntMinnie.com Radiation Oncology Insider

Dear Radiation Oncology Insider,

I'm pleased to welcome you to the first edition of the Radiation Oncology Insider, a special e-mail newsletter from AuntMinnie.com designed for health professionals working in radiation oncology.

This e-mail complements our new Radiation Oncology Digital Community, which AuntMinnie launched in March as a forum for news, information, and education regarding therapeutic applications of radiation.

We're expanding our coverage of radiation oncology due to the rapid growth that's occurring in the field. From image-guided radiation therapy to low-dose-rate breast brachytherapy, radiation oncologists are pioneering new techniques that are changing the way cancer is treated.

This Insider features an article from our content partner Imaging Technology News on how quality assurance techniques are improving the accuracy of radiation therapy treatments. Read all about it by clicking here.

In another recent article in the Community, researchers from the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD, found that prostate cancer that has spread to the lymphovascular system can be a tough opponent, even when radical prostatectomy is followed by radiation therapy. Learn about that study by clicking here.

Meanwhile, Taiwanese and U.S. radiation oncologists think they've built a better mousetrap for predicting regional recurrence (LRR) after mastectomy. Their goal is to better determine which patients are at risk for LRR, and to see if some patients would benefit more from postmastectomy radiotherapy (PMRT). Get the details by clicking here.

Get these articles and more by visiting our Radiation Oncology Digital Community, at radiation.auntminnie.com. If you have any colleagues who you think might like to receive their own copy of the Radiation Oncology Insider, feel free to forward this e-mail to them. They can click on the link at the bottom of this newsletter to sign up for their own copy.
