Radiation therapy vendor Varian Medical Systems of Palo Alto, CA, and its partner BrainLab of Munich have booked 14 orders for the Novalis Tx radiosurgical platform, the company reported.
Launched in September 2007, Novalis Tx combines technologies from both companies to offer noninvasive treatment options for patients. The orders include 10 in the U.S. and four in Europe.
Novalis Tx offers treatment options for a number of indications, including malignant and benign lesions, brain metastases, arteriovascular malformations, and functional lesions. It features dynamic ultrafine beam shaping and frameless patient positioning for more rapid and comfortable treatments, Varian said.
