Ultrasound vendor Biosound Esaote has released its Technos MPX multispecialty ultrasound system. First showcased at the 2002 RSNA meeting in Chicago, Technos MPX can support vascular, cardiac, musculoskeletal, abdominal, and obstetrics applications, according to the Indianapolis, IN-based firm.
The system includes a new digital beamformer, TEI harmonic imaging, and a range of wide-bandwidth, multi-frequency transducers (2-14 MHz). It also comes with a new biopsy transducer, in which the needle is placed through the transducer's center to provide a zero degree angle, the company said. 3-D capabilities, a CnTI contrast option, and VPan (for extended field-of-view) are also included, the vendor said.
