The ultrasound division of Siemens Medical Solutions launched Acuson Sequoia C512, a new 512-channel echocardiography scanner, at this week’s American Society of Echocardiography meeting in Las Vegas.
The new scanner combines new system architecture and transducer technologies, according to the Malvern, PA, company. A greater bandwidth of diagnostic information is available through Sequoia’s coherent matched response technology, which controls the use of both phase and amplitude information to create ultrasound images, Siemens said. The technology is particularly useful for tissue harmonic imaging and left ventricular opacification (LVO) contras imaging.
Siemens expects to begin shipping the scanner in September.
