Toshiba America Medical Systems is bringing its premium Aplio ultrasound system to the cardiology market. The Tustin, CA-based vendor showcased its Aplio cardiovacular ultrasound system at the 14th annual scientific sessions of the American Society of Echocardiography, held last week in Las Vegas.
The Aplio unit is equipped with a number of new features, including a Tissue Doppler quantification package that allows the user to assess myocardial function quantitatively based on high-frame-rate raw data, according to the firm. In addition, Toshiba has included advanced calculation packages to quantify data for a variety of imaging studies.
A work-in-progress Tissue Doppler Imaging Quantification (TDIQ) capability will offer serial tracking of myocardial contractility. A new mini-multi plane transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) transducer is available. As an option, the Aplio can be equipped with its own cardiology image and patient management workstation, Toshiba said.
