The Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS) has elected six new members to its board of directors. Jean Lea Spitz, from Oklahoma City, OK, was selected as president-elect of the organization; Shannon Boswell, of Seattle, was named vice president; Charlotte Henningsen from Orlando, FL, was elected to the post of secretary; Carolyn Coffin, of Las Cruces, NM, was tapped by the membership as treasurer; Cindy Rapp, from Denver, was chosen as the region 2 representative; and Nancy Chouinard, of Delta, BC, was designated the representative for region 7.
Voting for the positions took place electronically through a secured SDMS Web site, and was open to SDMS members from June 2-July 2 this year. The newly elected board members and incoming president Laurinda Andrist, from Eugene, OR, will be inducted into office at the SDMS annual conference in Dallas this October.
