Siemens Medical Solutions has begun shipping its fourSight 4D ultrasound imaging technology with its Sonoline Antares ultrasound scanners. The Malvern, PA-based vendor is showing off the 4D imaging capabilities this summer during an 11-city symposium tour throughout the U.S.
The combination of 3-Scape real-time 3D imaging and fourSight 4D imaging gives Antares users access to both freehand 3D and 4D imaging, accommodating a wider range of applications such as obstetrics, abdominal, and vascular imaging, according to the vendor. The fourSight 4D capabilities feature two 4D transducers with MultiHertz multiple-frequency imaging.
In addition, Siemens said the technology allows for flexible image formats, real-time multiplanar reconstruction, and real-time volume rendering, as well as intuitive volume editing, data storage, and retrieval via the vendor's DIMAQ-IP study management programs.
