Siemens Medical Solutions introduced a new upgrade package for its Acuson Sequoia echocardiography line at the American Heart Association meeting this week.
The Malvern, PA-based vendor introduced its Encompass Release for the Sequoia C512 and Sequoia C256 echocardiography systems. The package includes Native TEQ, an image optimization technology to improve workflow and ergonomics, and the new 8V3 transducer option for the pediatric and fetal echo systems. Native TEQ enables the system's computer to read signals returning from the patient, and automatically adjust parameters while the operator is scanning.
Siemens also showcased its new 8V3 Sequoia transducer for pediatric cardiology, which provides continuous focusing and image uniformity, broader bandwidth, and differentiation of near-field structures with higher resolution.
The company also demonstrated advancements in the Acuson CV70 cardiovascular system, such as its fourSight transesophageal view for integrated 3D imaging, and the new P9-4 transducer for pediatric cardiac imaging.
Also on display was the new Acuson AcuNav 8F ultrasound catheter for vascular and cardiac visualization and blood-flow measurement. The cross section of the new catheter is 33% smaller than the current model, according to the company.
