Philips Medical Systems of Andover, MA, will showcase iU22, the vendor's flagship ultrasound scanner introduced in February. The scanner includes features such as real-time 4D imaging, voice-activated control and annotation, and automated image optimization technologies.
iU22 is optimized for 4D ob/gyn and breast examinations, and can also be used in abdominal, musculoskeletal, pediatrics, small parts, and vascular applications. Philips put special emphasis on ergonomics when designing the system to reduce operator fatigue and injury while improving workflow. The scanner has a fully articulating control panel, lighter transducer cables, and angled, easy-access transducer connectors
The iU22 also features Philips' xStream architecture, enabling quick acquisition, manipulation, and quantification of full-volume datasets, according to the vendor. Other advanced features include 3D and 4D imaging, as well as multiplanar reconstruction (MPR) resolution rivaling acquired 2D plane resolution, the company said.
