(Booth 4129) At this year's RSNA show, Philips Medical Systems of Andover, MA, plans to feature the Vision 2008 upgrade package for the company's iU22 ultrasound system.
Vision 2008 enhancements include support for the company's ViewForum workstation, which enables the review of ultrasound images in the same format as CT and MR. Other upgrades enable viewing of a sequential block of volume data, and utilization of familiar manipulation and quantification tools.
In addition to the iU22 upgrades, Philips will demonstrate a C5-1 transducer designed to image technically difficult patients, such as the obese, by providing tissue penetration needed to acquire key diagnostic data.
Finally, look for Philips to highlight specific protocols that can provide fast and consistent approaches to ultrasound exams. These include an on-screen list that informs a user of required views; images are preannotated to save time and keystrokes, while alerts for measurements and modes are given. These features are fully customizable so that clinicians can establish their own protocol for any type of ultrasound exam, according to the company.
