AuntMinnie.com Women's Imaging Insider

Dear Women's Imaging Insider,

Last year, mammography CAD took a blow when a study in the New England Journal of Medicine associated the technology with reduced reading accuracy for screening mammograms. This month, however, CAD got a boost when the American Journal of Roentgenology published a study that refutes this finding, declaring CAD's sensitivity comparable to that of double reading.

With this paper sparking new discussion about CAD, the AuntMinnie.com Women's Imaging Digital Community declares retroactively that February is "Spotlight on CAD" month. For this Insider, we bring you more clinical news that points to the technology's efficacy, this time on CAD's role in improving the ability of radiologists to correctly classify clustered microcalcifications. As a Women's Imaging Insider, you have access to this Insider Exclusive article before the rest of our members can read it.
