Computer-aided-detection (CAD) developer R2 Technology of Sunnyvale, CA, has signed contracts designating it as a provider of CAD systems to two healthcare groups. The firm signed a three-year, sole-source contract with The FirstChoice cooperative of Tyler, TX, a member-owned purchasing cooperative. The company also negotiated a two-year, dual-source contract with Consorta, a healthcare resource management and group purchasing organization in Rolling Meadows, IL. The Consorta membership encompasses more than 400 acute care facilities, representing 55,944 beds, and 1,700 alternate care sites, and the FirstChoice cooperative, formed by five hospitals in 1995, comprises more than 100 members in Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.
