Agfa, Hologic finalize OEM deal

Agfa HealthCare and Hologic have finalized the terms of their joint full-field digital mammography development and OEM relationship. The firms had signed a letter of intent for a digital mammography partnership in April 2002.

Under the terms of the completed agreement, Hologic of Bedford, MA will manufacture a digital mammography system for Mortsel, Belgium-based Agfa under the private label Embrace. Embrace, available for distribution to specific international markets, employs Hologic's amorphous selenium technology and will be combined with Agfa's image and information management systems, according to the vendors.
