Hologic

Hologic plans to emphasize its main women's imaging businesses, breast cancer detection and osteoporosis assessment, at this year's RSNA show. The Bedford, MA, company's booth will showcase SecurView, a new multimodality workstation, as well as CAD applications on the company's Lorad Selenia full-field digital mammography (FFDM) workstation.

SecurView supports the display and interpretation of screening or diagnostic digital mammograms and images generated by MRI, CT, PET, and ultrasound. The system also supports CAD programs. Hologic received FDA clearance for SecurView in August.

Highlights for Lorad Selenia will include the company's partnerships with CAD developers iCAD, R2 Technology, and Confirma. In September, Hologic and iCAD received FDA clearance to use iCAD's Second Look Digital CAD product with Lorad Selenia. Finally, Hologic will feature its work on breast tomosynthesis technology.

On the bone densitometry side, Hologic will present its QDR Mobility package of reporting tools, which enables physicians to receive bone mineral density studies and generate reports via a wireless network.
