Swedish imaging informatics and digital mammography developer Sectra reported fiscal 2004 second-quarter net sales of 119.3 million Swedish kronor ($17.9 million U.S.), compared to net sales of 117.3 million kronor ($17.7 million) in the same period last year, according to the firm.
For the quarter (end-October 31) the Linköping-based vendor said it had net earnings of 21.3 million kronor ($3.2 million), compared with earnings of 15.5 million kronor ($2.3 million) in the second quarter of fiscal 2003.
The firm noted that earnings were affected by increasing costs for the production and marketing of its MicroDose Mammography digital mammography system. In addition, as 60% of its net sales are to international markets, fluctuations in the U.S. dollar in relation to the Swedish kronor contributed to price reductions of its products in the global market, Sectra said.
